Abstract

Microwave dielectric measurements are difficult to make, each method involves a compromise between accuracy, experimental simplicity, and complexity of the analysis. It is with these ideas in mind that we present a technique in which a waveguide is completely filled with the dielectric of interest to determine the dielectric constant for plastic materials (e.g. Rexolite, Lacqrene and PTFE). Good agreements between measured and manufacturer material specifications have been obtained.
