Abstract
Even though different technologies have been invented to predict natural disasters, we cannot avoid people getting injured or dying. Every time, after a natural disaster, although lots of rescue teams from different parties have been involved in relieving the victims, there are still so many casualties. Therefore, we have proposed a cooperative rescue robot system, called Disastrous Emergency Response Robot Team (DERRT). DERRT is a team of cooperative robots integrated with a great variety of equipment for the sake of saving lives. Basically, our team consists of 4 types of robots, named as "Coordinator", "Crusher", "Saver" and "Lifter". They work collaboratively, which depends on the kind of situation that they face. In this positioning paper, applied technologies, limitations as well as possible extensions of the system are fully discussed.
