Abstract

Due to the distinct characteristics and potential uses, cobalt ferrite has attracted significant scientific interest in various research sectors. Numerous synthetic techniques, including ball milling, sol–gel auto-combustion, co-precipitation, etc. can be employed to synthesize cobalt ferrite. Also, the characteristics of cobalt ferrite can be changed chemically in a variety of ways, such as, by replacing one or more metal ions from the lattice sites of cobalt ferrite with others, altering the reaction conditions, and composing with other inorganic matrices, etc. Doping has a large influence on structural, and magnetic attributes of cobalt ferrite. In current review study, our focus is on the structure, synthesis approaches, properties, and potential applications of cobalt ferrite.
