Abstract
The objective of this explorative experimental research study is to propose a practical framework for the design of constructivist-based online course for business education. The learning framework is developed from the experience gained by the researchers in developing a course which uses a business simulation based on virtual case scenario. The business simulation serves as a platform for coordinating a range of diverse on line learning activities in order to enhance skills in designing organizational performance measures within a group of participants. Those learning activities are implemented in a Learning Management System which allows one to investigate the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Those activities are assessed against commonly accepted design goals for constructivist-based learning. In addition, behavioral skills of participants towards rationality in social behaviors are examined to better understand the contribution of the on-line learning environment to learner’s experience and skills development. Based on preliminary results, the researchers summarize the components and structure into a learning framework which contains three main components i.e. learning culture, process and data flows. This research study will contribute to applied research, aiming to propose a practical framework for educators rather than contributing to theoretical developments.
