Abstract

A Product-Service System (PSS) is a vital model for the circular economy, enabling producers to integrate essential services like end-of-life considerations and product life extension into their offerings. This integration enhances user experience and consumer value while achieving the circular resource loop closure. However, existing research has often overlooked the critical aspect of consumer experience and acceptance in PSS. This paper adopts Customer-Dominant Logic that places consumers at the forefront. It introduces a novel methodological advancement aimed at capturing and measuring how consumers make choices and perceive value within different PSS options. Additionally, we propose incorporating conjoint analysis and Kano modeling as confirmatory statistical tools to identify elements within a PSS that resonate with consumer preferences in decision-making. The methodology presented herein not only addresses consumer needs and expectations but also to advance the design of such systems that align closely with the circular economy paradigm.
