Abstract

Photovoltaic (PV) phenomenon becomes more and more important since it can take the sunlight as the input and yield electric energy at the output. Recently, intensive researches have been conducted in this field to achieve high energy yield efficiency and tracking accuracy. However, the actual output power from PV systems under partial shading conditions (PSCs) will be significantly affected. Thus, in order to address this issue, several PV models are introduced with distinct characteristics. This paper will give a comprehensive review and comparison of different PV models under the PSCs from different perspectives such as the accuracy, complexity and the utilization of them in practical. In addition, pros and cons of them are evaluated based on certain defined classification.
