title = "An investigation of the role of the it department in achieving ERP success",
abstract = "In this paper, we study how the service climate in the IT department influences the success of ERP after it is implemented. We developed a theoretical model of the impact of service climate on ERP success by adapting an existing model of service climate. We also theorized the role of management support in facilitating the influence process of service climate. We collected data from a sample of 32 IT managers in the manufacturing sector in mainland China. Results from structural equation modelling analysis provided strong support for our hypotheses. Results revealed that service leadership had a positive impact on the service climate of the IT department and a favorable service climate in the IT department led to better organizational performance enabled by ERP. In addition, management support played an important role in positively influencing service leadership, service climate, and ERP success. Implications of these results for theory and practice were discussed.",
