Abstract

Two action research projects on project-based learning and contest-based learning were conducted in teaching practice based on two specific modules in higher education. It is found that project-based learning with a well-designed project and properly delivered module contents can help students effectively achieve the learning outcomes, and contest-based learning is validated as an effective learning approach that contributes to improving students' learning motivation and performance.
