N2 - This paper comprehensively reviews the development and application of interactive multi-legged social robots in psychotherapy for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The study focuses on the positive effects of these robots as motivational tools for autistic children during game tasks and the recovery phase of therapy. Through an exploration of bio-locomotion gestures and interactive functions, the research investigates the potential for interaction between social robots and children with autism. To address existing challenges and explore the potential of multi-legged social robots in ASD therapy, a novel approach utilizing a 3D-printed hexapod social robot is introduced. The paper provides a detailed description of the manufacturing process, including customization options, precise design, and the materials used. Preliminary results demonstrate the potential of the 3D-printed hexapod social robot in autism therapy, providing insights into the development of 3D-printed social robots. Future work will focus on expanding the robot's capabilities, refining its behaviors, and investigating its performance in ASD treatment.
