Abstract
A symbolic music dataset of Chinese Guqin pieces is introduced. Guqin dataset contains 71 Guqin pieces. 408 phrases, with 9 860 measures in total, formatted in MusicXML files. Firstly, the Guqin. Guqin music and its notations are introduced. Then, the composition of Guqin dataset and its construction are presented, while possible applications of Guqin dataset are discussed. Finally, a method for distinguishing Bach and Guqin music genre based on statistical models is proposed as an application instance of Guqin dataset.
