Description
This summer, I led a team of IBSS students, Michael Oetomo, Aanuoluwapo Oguntade, Ana Paola, Xinyu Peng, and Siying Zhang, who investigated possible strategies for Jiangxi Huayang New Energy company to invest in Pakistan’s building energy storage industry.
Key findings
The findings presented to the company indicated that, to successfully expand the market in Pakistan, Huayang should collaborate with the Pakistani government to align its project with the National Renewable Energy Policy 2019) to benefit Huayang from subsidies, tax incentives, and other supportive regulations that are designed to promote renewable energy industry. Our results reveal that Huayang needs to invest in localised technological solutions to develop and offer renewable energy solutions aligned with Pakistan's needs and situations.
