Personal profile

Personal profile

My research focuses on developing sustainable strategies for chemical and drug synthesis that leverage novel reactivity concepts to rapidly produce complex molecules and natural products. These compounds aim to enhance the body's ability to combat cancer and inflammation. During my doctoral research, I am synthesizing peptide units and developing phosphorus-based pro-drugs to inhibit matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), which are involved in tumor progression and metastasis. I have a Master degree in Phytochemistry from Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. My reseach thesis was on study of Antioxidants compounds from the leaves extract of Lantana trifolia. I studied my Bachelors degree in Chemistry at Egerton University, Kenya.

Research interests

Medicinal and Organic Chemistry, Pharmacognosy

  • Design and chemical/drug synthesis that engage novel reactivity concepts of architecturally complex molecules and natural products that can boost the body's ability to fight cancer and inflammation..
  • Study of bio-active prototypes from natural sources and microorganism.
