Haozhe Cui has extensive attempts in the biological sciences. During his time at Sheffield, his research was on developing drought-tolerant maize, and investigating the role of stomatal regulatory genes in the model organism Arabidopsis thaliana through transgenics and gene editing. He then explored reproduction at Wuhan University, where his research focussed on the effects of meiosis-related proteins on spermatogenesis. He explored the structural biology of membrane proteins at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. Now he joined XJTLU as a PhD student in immunology. His current research is focused on the development of novel methods for the blockade of immune checkpoints, which challenge established paradigms in this field. His research involves the fields of bioinformatics, molecular biology and cell biology.
