Yifang Yuan is a PhD student in the Department of Media and Communication at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, beginning his program in December 2023. His doctoral research focuses on the coverage of the Russian-Ukrainian war in UK and Indian media, with an emphasis on the role of political economy in shaping news framing and discourse. His broader research interests include the political economy of media, comparative media systems, and war journalism. He is also engaged with the philosophy of social science and social research methods, particularly the integration of quantitative and qualitative approaches to causal inference.
