I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computing, School of Advanced Technology. Before I joined Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, I was a postdoctoral and doctoral researcher at AVIZ, Inria (France) from 2020 to 2024. In 2023, I was a visiting researcher at University of Calgary (Canada), collaborating with Dr. Wesley Willett. I obtained my Ph.D. in Computer Science from University Paris-Saclay, supervised by Dr. Petra Isenberg and Dr. Anastasia Bezerianos. My dissertation, Situated Visualization in Motion, was awarded the PhD Thesis Prize from AFIHM (only 2 annual recipients). Previously, from 2014 to 2020, I got my M.Sc. in Computer Science from University Paris-Saclay, M.Eng. (Français: Diplôme d'ingénieur) in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Polytech Lille, and B.Eng. in Electronic and Information Engineering from XIDIAN University 西安电子科技大学.
For undergraduate, master, and postgraduate students who are interested in "visualization in motion", "high-performance sports analytics", "video games", "mobile and wearable devices", "AI in practice", and broad information visualization, you are always welcome to come to my office and have a chat with me. My office is at SC564D; office hours are on Wednesday from 3 pm - 5 pm.
My research interests include but are not limited to visualization, interaction, and artificial intelligence.
I mainly focus on situated and embedded visualization, as well as visualization in motion. I am always contributing to understanding how motion characteristics and spatial factors affect the perception, design, and application of visualization. My research journey includes basic exploration, prototype development, and real application. The ultimate goal of my research is to help the general public better understand the data, get useful insights from information, and make decisions easily in daily life.
I am interested in investigating how users can better interact with and explore information, especially with complex data and/or by multimode interactions. The research aims to based on specific application scenarios, explore and develop innovative interaction modes, simplify interactions with a human-centered approach, and improve the user experience.
In the academic year 2024/2025, I will (co-)teach the following courses:
From 2021 to 2023, I (co-)taught the Master courses on Interactive Information Visualization at University Paris-Saclay:
PhD, Université Paris-Saclay
2020 → 2023
Master, Université Paris-Saclay
2019 → 2020
Master, Diplôme d'ingénieur, Polytech Lille (École polytechnique universitaire de Lille)
2017 → 2019
Bachelor, Xidian University
2014 → 2018
