Lei is an Assistant Professor in Accounting at the IBSS, XJTLU. He joined the faculty at IBSS in 2022 after completing his Ph.D. in Accounting at the Schulich School of Business, York University, Canada. Prior to joining XJTLU, Lei held faculty positions at Shandong University, China, and Auburn University at Montgomery, USA.Although Lei’s research interests span empirical accounting and economics, his primary research emphasis is in financial accounting, where he uses empirical archival methodology to examine the impact of climate change on firms’ financial reporting behaviors. His research has been published in leading journals such as Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, European Accounting Review, Journal of Business Ethics (FT 50), Management International Review (ABS 3), Journal of Travel Research (ABS 4, ABDC-A*), Empirical Economics, Energy Economics (ABS 3, ABDC-A*), among others.
