Personal profile

Personal profile

Dr. Han received her B.S. in Bioscience from Soochow University (2009), M.S. in Bioengineering from Shandong University (2012), and Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the United States (2017). After finishing her Ph.D., she continued her academic career as a postdoctoral research associate at Boston University (2018-2019) and worked as an Assistant Professor at Minnesota State University, Mankato (2021-2022). She is now an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biological Sciences in XJTLU. Dr. Han is an X-ray crystallographer who combines structural biology with enzyme kinetics and other biochemical methods to address questions of enzyme catalysis, with a particular focus on inhibitor/drug design. Her current research focuses on the activation mechanism of the atypical aspartate-less response regulators (ALRs), diguanylate cyclase, and proteins involved in gliding motility. Dr. Han’s laboratory is open to students of all levels and collaborators seeking assistance in protein purification, engineering, crystallization, and enzyme kinetics.
