Huanruo Wang (王涣若) joined the Department of Media and Communications as an assistant professor in 2024. She received her doctoral degree in Chinese film and media studies from Harvard University in 2023. Huanruo's research interests lie in modern and contemporary Chinese media cultures, especially varied reality-based media forms and practices such as DV documentary, reality TV, and livestreaming. She has conducted fieldwork in media industries diversely as assistant director, editor and production assistant in different documentary-related projects.
