Personal profile

Dr. Cheng Xu focuses on Business Ethics, especially the ethical implications of digital technologies like generative AI and the metaverse, alongside corporate responsibilities towards public health. His research has been featured in leading journals across both business and computer science fields. These include Social Science and Medicine (ABS 4),  Journal of Business Research (ABS 3), International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction (CCF B), Business Strategy and the Environment (ABS 3), Pacific-Basin Finance Journal (ABDC-A),  Journal of Innovation and Knowledge (ABDC-A), Global Finance Journal (ABDC-A), and Journal of Economic Psychology (ABDC-A), among others. Currently, Dr. Xu is the Associate Editor for Business Ethics at Nature: Humanities and Social Sciences Communications (JCR Q1, IF=3.5). Prior to earning his Ph.D., Dr. Xu worked as a strategy manager and special assistant to the CEO of the Beijing Science Park Development Group, which develops and operates Zhongguancun Science Parks. He also served as a senior investment manager for multinational real estate funds, where he led or participated in numerous multimillion-dollar mergers, acquisitions, and investment initiatives. As a strategy and management consultant, he has worked for several renowned companies such as Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, the Beijing Tourism Development Committee, China Communications Construction Group, and Beijing Airport Economic Development Co., Ltd.
