Dr. Cheng Xu specializes in technology, health, sustainable development, and AI-driven social change. He is a core member of the Big Data Analytics and Modelling Research Centre at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and serves as a guest lecturer at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where he engages students on AI’s transformative impact on business and society. His research has been published in leading business and natural science journals, including Social Science and Medicine (ABS 4), Journal of Business Ethics (FT 50), International Review of Financial Analysis (ABS 3), Journal of Business Research (ABS 3), International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction (CCF B), Business Strategy and the Environment (ABS 3), Pacific-Basin Finance Journal (ABDC-A), Journal of Innovation and Knowledge (ABDC-A), Global Finance Journal (ABDC-A), and Journal of Economic Psychology (ABDC-A), among others. Dr. Xu is actively involved in academic editorial roles across both social and natural science disciplines. He serves as an Associate Editor for Humanities and Social Sciences Communications (CAS Humanities Q1 & JCR Q1) and the Annals of Precision Medicine. Additionally, he is a committee member of the Neuroeconomic Management Committee under the China Society of Technology Economics, a top-tier academic society in China. Before earning his Ph.D., Dr. Xu held roles as a strategy manager and special assistant to the CEO at Beijing Science Park Development Group, which operates the Zhongguancun Science Parks. He also served as a senior investment manager for multinational real estate funds, leading and participating in various multimillion-dollar mergers, acquisitions, and investment projects. As a strategy and management consultant, he has worked with prominent clients including Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, Beijing Tourism Development Committee, China Communications Construction Group, and Beijing Airport Economic Development Co., Ltd. During his studies, Dr. Xu gained experience in retail by working part-time as a sales assistant at luxury fashion boutiques such as Paul Smith and Comme des Garçons in New York, Tokyo, London, and Shanghai.
