This research explores the use of the blended teaching approach to motivate Chinese students' autonomous vocabulary learning in EAP teaching. The study investigates 115 students from Year 1 EAP courses at XJTLU. By incorporating affix and associative mnemonics into blended learning, the research aims to identify difficulties affecting autonomous vocab learning and effective teaching approaches. Results indicate that utilizing mnemonics and online resources enhances students' vocab retention. The study emphasizes the significance of employing appropriate learning technologies and methods to support students' autonomous learning.
