Understanding Agency of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Practitioners--A Critical Autoethnographic Narrative from Dual Dimensions: Emotion and Identity

Activity: Talk or presentationPresentation at conference/workshop/seminar

Description

This presentation offers a critical autoethnographic exploration of the intersection between emotion, agency, and identity among EAP practitioners in a Sino-UK joint institution in China. Drawing on sociocultural theory (SCT), it traces the emotional and professional development of the practitioners through a combination of narrative, classroom observation, interviews, and teaching artifacts. The study provides unique insights into how these elements influence their sense of agency and professional identity, with a focus on the personal and emotional dimensions often overlooked in EAP research.
