A two-day Symposium organised and hosted by the School of Languages at XJTLU. The theme for this event was "Flying Solo: Fostering Learner Autonomy". The programme contained 6 Plenary and Featured Speakers, 55 different presentations, workshops, and roundtable discussions, plus a series of lightning talks. The event was held onsite and online, with both internal and external presenters and participants from XJTLU, other leading universities in China, and universities from around the world (e.g. Japan, the UK, the US, Canada, etc.). In total (onsite and online), the event had over 300 registered participants. Of these, 26 were external (non-XJTLU) onsite presenters plus 27 external (non-XJTLU) onsite attendees. In addition, 76 external (non-XJTLU) presenters and attendees participated online, of whom 29 were international (i.e. not Chinese).
