Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is broadly described as activities that lecturers engage in to help them extend their knowledge and skills in learning and teaching. This presentation addresses how Chinese language lecturers feel about CPD activities offered in the School of Languages (SoL) and the impact it has on their professional development. In this study, online questionnaires and semi-structured interviews were deployed to explore insights on the effectiveness of CPD in SoL. The session begins with a brief introduction to CPD followed by discussion
of the research and findings to help improve CPD for non-native English language lecturers.
