This research investigates the adaptation of Chinese traditional folklore and religious ideologies, particularly Confucianism and Taoism, in contemporary Chinese cinema. By analyzing films like Ne Zha (2019). Jiang Ziya (2020), and Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms (2023), alongside broader cultural contexts, the study examines how these adaptations balance the preservation of cultural heritage with the demands of modern storytelling. The findings reveal a complex interplay between traditional values and contemporary cinematic approach highlighting both the opportunities and challenges in maintaining cultural authenticity while engaging a global audience.
