Description

This peer review evaluates the article "Current Practices of Socio-Emotional Learning in Early Childhood Development," which investigates SEL implementation in rural Nepalese ECD centers. The study employs a qualitative case study methodology, combining classroom observations and facilitator interviews to examine practical SEL strategies (e.g., structured play, storytelling) and systemic challenges (resource limitations, cultural barriers). Grounded in social constructivism and Maslow's hierarchy of needs, the research highlights the critical role of emotionally supportive environments while revealing gaps between SEL theory and rural practice. The article makes significant contributions to understanding culturally responsive SEL approaches in low-resource settings, though would benefit from deeper methodological transparency and inclusion of local literature. My review assessed the study's theoretical framework, research design, and practical implications, ultimately recommending acceptance with revisions to strengthen its relevance for both academic and practitioner audiences in global ECD contexts.
