Description
In groups with interdisciplinary tendencies, there is some intermixing of viewpoints but the fullness of transgenerational collaboration is rare. Ironically, there is no greater passion for confronting wicked challenges than among graduate students and early-career researchers—to whom mid-career and long-term practitioners might bring the explanatory value of concepts and models as well as IRL case studies. Colloquies for Transgenerational Collaboration (CTC) centre on a unique organising principle: to begin from grad students’ and early-career researchers’ passions, worldviews, and values—and to develop new language and effective methods through collaboration across generations, disciplines, projects, and practices. Especially relevant for global wicked challenges are the disciplines of Systems and Cybernetics. On October 6, 7, and 8, public sessions held online and in-person in Pittsburgh will explore compatibilities, possibilities, and productive friction during processes of design and co-creation. The sessions will seed a living repository that evolves through on-going global collaboration, to be documented and widely shared to benefit other scholars and practitioners.Period | 6 Oct 2023 → 8 Oct 2023 |
