Abstract

In this paper, we introduce the selective discarding priority management scheme, Partial Buffer Sharing (PBS), to leaky bucket policer on ATM networks, to guaranty lower loss probability for high priority cells. The performance of priority leaky bucket (PLB) is analyzed using extended fluid flow method. The service is assumed to be a bursty traffic which can be modeled as superposition traffic of M homogeneous On-Off sources. The results of analysis and simulation experiments show that this scheme is useful. From the performance analysis results we may get suitable PLB parameters for efficient control.
