An accurate method to measure PDL by mathematical model likelihood of constellation diagram

Abstract

A method based on mathematical model likelihood is proposed to measure PDL in a 16-QAM PDM system transmitted at 2x28 GBaud rate. The MAE of the PDL measured by our detector is 0.0149 dB.
