Algorithmic perspective of PML transmission conditions for domain decomposition methods

Abstract

We review the recent trend of using perfectly matched layers as transmission conditions in domain decomposition methods. Using Maxwell's equations as our model problem, we show how various algorithms in the literature are connected in the unifying framework of optimized Schwarz methods.
