Abstract

Nowadays, with the development of communication technology, people have higher requirements for communication quality. The quality of communication includes speed, delay, reliability, and so on. However, improving the quality of communication, it is also necessary to consider the communication resources, namely transmission power and bandwidth. Several decades ago, people began to use multiplexing methods to achieve both, such as time division multiplexing (TDM), frequency division multiplexing (FDM), code division multiplexing (CDM), wave division multiplexing (WDM). This paper studies the principles of FDM and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), and verifies the feasibility of FDM and OFDM application in digital communication system through simulation and waveform analysis.
