Personal profile

Ho Man Yau is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the Department of Architecture at the University of Liverpool, based offsite at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University.

Ho Man Yau holds a Master of Architecture (M.Arch) degree (RIBA / ARB Part 2) from the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture & Built Environment at Robert Gordon University (RGU). He has also worked as a Research Assistant and Visiting Researcher after he graduated. Additionally, Ho Man is an Associate Member of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS).

His research interests span a range of cutting-edge topics, including computational design methods, machine learning applications in 3D generative systems, robotics fabrication, digitalisation of building permits, and the integration of advanced technologies in architecture.

Ho Man Yau has also contributed to the field through presentations and publications, including:

‘Navigating Building Standards and Building Warrant Processes in Scotland Building Information Repositories’ at the EC3 2024 Conference;

'Timber Joints Analysis and Design Using Shape and Graph Grammar-Based Machine Learning Approach' at the eCAADe 2023 Conference.
