Dr Geoffrey Chun-fung Chen is an Associate Professor in the Department of China Studies at the Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. His research interests broadly cover environmental politics and comparative political economy. He is the author of Governing Sustainable Energies in China (Palgrave Macmillan, 2016) and co-author with David Toke, Antony Froggatt, and Richard Connolly of Nuclear Power in Stagnation (Routledge, 2021). His published articles can be found in peer-reviewed journals, including New Political Economy, Third World Quarterly, Europe-Asia Studies, The Pacific Review, Journal of International Relations and Development, and Journal of Chinese Political Science. Geoffrey gained his PhD from the University of Bath and has held research fellow positions at the University of Duisburg-Essen and the German Institute of Global and Area Studies. At XJTLU he teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in the area of Chinese political economy.
