Personal profile

Dr. Sun aims to achieve green and scalable synthesis of pharmaceutical compounds with renewable feedstocks, combined with the experiences in electrochemistry, photochemistry, and flow chemistry. Dr. Sun received her Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry from Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). She later joined Nanjing University as a postdoctoral research fellow, where she devoted her efforts to a multidisciplinary area of nano-materials design and their application in electrochemical synthesis of value-added chemicals. Following that, she worked as a research associate in Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, CAS for three years. Focusing on the greener synthesis of functionalized molecules, she contributed to safer oxo synthesis and electrochemical continuous-flow synthesis during that time. Dr. Sun has received 8 granted patents and published over 20 peer reviewed research articles on the high-profile journals including Journal of the American Chemical Society and Green Chemistry.
