Dr. Wenzhang Zhang received her PhD in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics from the University of Liverpool, in 2022. During her PhD, she participated in the wireless charging project collaborating with Liverpool Alder Hey Children Hospital and Innovate Orthopedics Ltd., respectively. Currently, Dr. Wenzhang Zhang is an Assistant Professor at the School of Internet of Things in Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University.

She was partially funded by the Higher Education Funding Council of the United Kingdom. She was shortlisted for the Best Student Paper in the IEEE EuCAP 2020 conference, won the Best Student Paper Award in IET Active and Passive RF Devices 2018, won the Best Paper Award in SMC-IoT 2023, and was invited to give a speech at the CM SIG 2020 Characteristic Mode Analysis Organization. She was invited to serve as a technical program committee member of IEEE EuCAP 2021, ICCCN 2024, CCISS 2024, ICDSP2024 and ICiMR 2024. She was also invited to serve as Workshop chair of MICCIS 2024 and ISITSC 2024, and Special Session chair of APCAP 2024, RFIT 2024 and CCAI 2023.

Her research interests include wireless power transfer/energy harvesting systems, metamaterial/metasurface design, characteristic mode analysis, wearable/implantable device design and passive RF device design (e.g., antenna design, etc.).
