Dr. Zhu, an Assistant Professor at Wisdom Lake Academy of Pharmacy, is dedicated to advancing the field of drug delivery with a focus on optimizing transdermal delivery systems for biopharmaceuticals and chemotherapeutics. His research endeavors also encompass the exploration of localized drug delivery strategies for cancer immunotherapy and the development of novel smart biomaterials.
Having completed both his undergraduate and doctoral studies at Soochow University under the guidance of Professor Liu Zhuang, Dr. Zhu gained expertise in tumor immunotherapy and the application of biomaterials. This expertise led him to embark on a postdoctoral fellowship at the same institution in 2022, where he further honed his skills in the transdermal delivery of biopharmaceuticals.
Dr. Zhu values interdisciplinary collaboration and actively seeks partnerships with researchers from various backgrounds to tackle complex challenges in drug delivery and immunotherapy. - Optimizing TransdermalDelivery Systems for Biopharmaceuticals and Chemotherapeutics:
- Developing and refining transdermaldelivery strategies to enhance the efficacy, safety, and patient compliance of biopharmaceuticals and chemotherapeutics.
- Investigating novel formulations and technologies to improve the skin penetration and retention of these drugs.
- Localized Drug Delivery Strategies for Cancer Immunotherapy:
- Exploring targeted and localized drug delivery approaches to enhance the efficacy of cancer immunotherapy by directing therapeutic agents directly to the tumor site.
- Evaluating the impact of local drug delivery on immune cell activation and tumor microenvironment modulation.
- Development of Novel Smart Biomaterialsfor drug delivery:
- Researching and designing advanced biomaterials with stimuli-responsive properties for drug delivery applications.
- Investigating the potential of these smart biomaterials to enhance drug release kinetics, improve drug stability, and facilitate targeted delivery.
