Takao Terui is a Lecturer in the School of Film and Television Arts at Xian Jiaotong Liverpool University. He obtained his PhD in Culture, Media and Creative Industries from the Kings College London and an MA with Distinction in International Cultural Policy and Management from the University of Warwick. His research engages with cultural policy and creative industries in the UK and Japan. His writing appears in The Journal of Arts Management, Law and Society, International Journal of Cultural Policy, and Journal of Cultural Management and Cultural Policy. Previously, he worked as a research expert at Doshisha University (Japan) and Cultural Relations Platform (EU-based think-tank) as well as a project leader for the Decolonising the CMCI Curriculum at Kings College London (funded by Kings Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Fund).
