Dr. Kozo Hamada is an Associate Professor at the Department of Biological Sciences in the School of Science. He serves as the Principal Investigator (PI) leading his laboratory at Xian Jiaotong Liverpool University (XJTLU). He obtained his Ph.D. degree by the study of neurotransmitter serotonin and catecholamines at the University of Tokyo (Department of Biomedical Chemistry, Supervisor: Prof. Katsuji Takai). Over the past 20 years, he has dedicated his efforts to studying signal transductions, calcium signaling, and the structural biology of receptors and channels at institutions such as the University of Tokyo and RIKEN in Japan. His scientific interests encompass chemical signaling and related diseases, and he will focus on the development of new biomedical maneuvers to address human diseases, including neurodegenerative diseases and cancer.Dr. Hamada actively encourages students and collaborators to engage in his projects.
