Dr. Dapeng Dong holds a PhD from National University of Ireland, Cork, where he also completed his MSc in Software and Systems for Mobile Networks and MA in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. Currently, Dr. Dong serves as an Assistant Professor at Xian Jiaotong-Liverpool University, where he is a part of the Department of Communications Networking. Prior to his current position, Dr. Dong was an Assistant Professor at National University of Ireland, Maynooth. Dr. Dong has worked at Boole Centre for Research in Informatics conducting research on self-organizing and self-managing clouds. As a work-package leader, he led the project implementation team and contributed to the development of next-generation cloud architectures. He has also worked at State Street Advanced Technology Centre as a senior postdoctoral researcher, focusing on integrating cloud computing, big data analytics systems, and FinTech technologies. He was later affiliated with the Science Foundation Ireland CONNECT Centre, where he conducted research on resource optimization and task scheduling frameworks for Edge Computing.
