Description
How the disclosure of supply chain information impacts the success of crowdfunding projects is rarely studied. This study, firstly distilled five categories of supply chain information from a textual analysis of 110,000 projects in Kickstarter. Secondly, this study analyzed the configuration of these five categories on the financial performance of these crowdfunding projects by using fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fs-QCA). Findings show four configurational paths in terms of the configuration of SCOR components that lead to the success of crowdfunding projects, and five configurationational paths that lead to the failure of crowdfunding projects. The findings contribute to the literature of driving factors of crowdfunding success. Also, the findings provide practical implications for the narrative design of crowdfunding projects in terms of supply chain information.
