“I feel a little bit bored in the writing class”. In a content-heavy and teacher-talk-dominated EAP writing class, the following two major concerns might be shared by some of our lecturers:
1) How to make students feel engaged and motivated if Teacher Talking Time (TTT) is too heavy in the writing class?
2) How to increase students’ in-class writing output opportunities to make it a real ‘WRITING’ class?
This CoP session aims to share some of our practical teaching strategies which hopefully could be helpful or inspiring for our EAP writing teaching.
