Abstract
Cities are at the forefront for tackling global sustainability challenges, driving the urgent need for navigating and proposing urban transitions approaches and pathways towards shaping a sustainable and smart future.
This Special Issue explores the intersection of urban development, digital technology adoption, urban resilience building, low carbon transition, as well as social policy innovation, to accelerate the shift to sustainable and smart futures.
We invite theoretical, empirical, and practical contributions that examine governance frameworks, technological integration, development patterns, socio-economic dynamics, and stakeholder collaborations of urban systems from international communities.
By bridging interdisciplinary studies, this Special Issue aims to advance knowledge on scalable solutions for sustainable and smart cities, offering insights for policy-makers, private-sectors, and academics committed to urban revolution pathways towards sustainability and smartness.
