Abstract
The project is situated in a coastal watchtower in Italy. After years of exposure to wind and
sunlight, the tower’ s exterior has become weathered, with parts severely damaged. The
architectural design emphasizes structure and materiality, aiming to reveal the original beauty of
the watchtower through the new intervention.
The new construction remains entirely independent from the original building, supported by a
system of steel structures and load-bearing walls. Extending from the interior spaces to the
rooftop and further into the exterior, it expands the functional capacity of the site. A series of
corridors and artists’ studios spiral around the watchtower, offering both varied and distinctive
spatial experiences.
