Abstract

Calixarenes 5-8 capped with DTPA bridges were synthesized by condensation of the corresponding 1,3-(distal)-diaminocalixarenes and DTPA dianhydride in DMF. The chelating properties of the DTPA-calixarenes were evaluated towards europium and the resulting complexes were characterized by mass spectroscopy.
