Abstract

SwitcherYu is an iPhone/iPad app that uses on-device offline translation data from your device to provide 2-4 language tabs (including simple Romanization for Chinese and Japanese). It allows you to switch easily between on-device translations, as well as host a session so that other people nearby can view the conversation chain. The key thing to remember is to type or dictate using the language tab that matches your input language. The app is tiny (<5MB), so all the translation language data must be downloaded for "offline" use in Apple's own Translation app for SwitcherYu to use it too.
