Abstract
An iteration of #REFLECTIONS (2021) - 3 photos of the photo essay were iterated in color and printed with silk screen on fabrics which were used for a paravent furniture piece.
Reflections transforms photography from a framed image into an enveloping at-
mospheric field. Large-scale, grey-tone prints rendered on fabric and suspended to
form a panoramic paravent or a series of free-standing panels, potentially spanning
from the top to the ceiling of the booth.
This installation directly engages the theme by crafting an atmosphere of sight and
perception. The work is a profound study of ephemeral light interacting with glass,
surface, and texture. Rooted in intimate observation—like the interior of a glass bot-
tle—it investigates how form and void engage through light. Blurry lines, organic
shapes, and soft shadows are not captured but curated, treating the expansive
white and black spaces not as background, but as resonant, active presence.
As visitors step into this designed space, the amplified, fabric-mounted images op-
erate as vessels of perception. They articulate a threshold space—what Gaston Ba-
chelard called a “resonance of windows”—where materiality and memory interact.
The installation invites a suspended state of attentiveness, using the interplay of light
and shadow to create a visual stillness that is both immersive and contemplative.
It weaves a pure design atmosphere where seeing becomes a tactile, meditative
experience.
