Less Is More When It Comes to AI in Teaching

Research output: Other contribution

Abstract

The rapid adoption of AI in higher education offers opportunities to improve teaching efficiency, yet without a clear strategy it can add complexity and fuel burnout. Drawing on our experience as language educators, we outline four practical strategies for integrating AI in ways that enhance teaching rather than overwhelm it: disrupting routine to keep practice fresh, focusing on workflow optimisation, adopting a minimalist approach to tool selection, and using AI for feedback and self-reflection. These approaches show how smarter, more deliberate AI use can support both educator well-being and student learning.
