Abstract
The development of artificial intelligence has major significance for China. AI is a key technology leading a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation. It is the commanding height of global scientific and technological competition, and it has a strong spill-over and driving effect. This paper will provide an overview of China’s AI policy agenda with attention to two aspects: the main motives and actions of the government; and the emergence of China's domestic AI firms.
