Abstract

Hitless wavelength add-drop using a signaling protocol combined with hitless switching techniques was presented. The enabled time division multiplexing (TDM) channel provisioning, cross-connections between wavelengths and monitoring without service interruption or downtime. The results confirmed zero bit error rate during wavelength add-drop.
