Abstract
Federated credit risk prediction can reduce pooling of client training records, but label imbalance, client heterogeneity, and private training noise impair utility. HA-DP-FedAvg combines an RDP-calibrated back-loaded noise schedule with aggregation weights derived from one-time private, shrinkage-stabilized label prevalence. We evaluate three credit datasets under moderate and severe Dirichlet skew using 50 rounds, total ϵ ≈ 3, and ten paired seeds. Relative to privacy-matched DP-FedAvg, mean AUPRC increases from 0.422 to 0.460 on Default Credit and from 0.330 to 0.369 on Give Me Some Credit at moderate skew; at severe skew, the changes are 0.431 to 0.442 and 0.289 to 0.319. German Credit results are smaller and inconclusive. Factorial and horizon analyses show context-dependent gains that narrow with longer training.
