Abstract

This Glossary of Terminology, Historical Linguistics, is intended to reach a wider audience, appealing not only to professional linguistics, but also to students of linguistics and historical linguistics, amateur linguists, and indeed to anyone who is not a linguist or who is unfamiliar with linguistics per se. This glossary focuses on the Anatolian adstrate languages, cuneiform Hittite and Luwian, and the Minoan Linear A syllabary, highlighting in particular the syllabaries, Anatolian Minoan Linear A, Mycenaean Linear B and Arcado-Cypriot Linear C.
